According to the Official Charts Company, African sounds are firmly entrenched in the UK music scene, with fresh debuts and consistent chart-toppers shaping the current playlist.
American singer Odeal’s Miami retained the No. 1 spot for the ninth consecutive week. However, Nigerian sensation Rema shook up the rankings with his latest single, Fun, which made a remarkable debut at No. 2.
South African breakout star Tyla slipped one place to No. 3 with Is It, while Ayra Starr surged to No. 4 with Hot Body, equalling her highest peak on the chart.
Grammy winner Burna Boy maintained his presence at No. 5 with Love, followed closely at No. 6 by Dynamite, a collaboration between Tyla and Wizkid. Young Jonn and Wizkid’s Cash Flow slid to No. 7 in its second week, while rising act Fola broke into the Top 10 at No. 8 with You, marking his best career chart performance.
Asake also delivered a double showing: Badman Gangsta with Tiakola claimed the No. 9 spot, while his collaboration with UK rapper J Hus, Gold, re-entered the Top 10 at No. 10. The track had previously peaked at No. 1.
