Nigerian Air Force Airstrikes Kill 35 Terrorists

The precision strikes, carried out in the early hours of Saturday, August 23, targeted terrorists converging near Kumshe, Borno State, where they were reportedly planning to attack ground troops.

NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed this in a statement, saying the air raids followed credible intelligence from multiple sources.

He explained that the terrorists were neutralised in four identified locations.

“Following the operation, communication was re-established with ground troops, who confirmed that the situation around their location had been stabilised,” Ejodame said.

He added that the air operations underscored the Air Force’s commitment to supporting ground troops and disrupting terrorist logistics and movement corridors in the Northeast border regions.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, was said to have sent a message of commendation to the aircrew for their professionalism.

According to Ejodame, the Air Chief assured that NAF would sustain aggressive, intelligence-driven operations to ensure the total degradation of terrorist elements threatening Nigeria’s sovereignty.
