NGO Awards Scholarship, Presents School Materials To Students In Ilawe-Ekiti

President/Executive Director of the NGO, Mr Opeyemi Olajide Olowookere, made the appeal at Ilawe-Ekiti, Ekiti South-West Local Government Area of Ekiti State, during what he tagged”, Back To School” Programme which also featured the award of scholarship to some selected students.

He said the event was informed by the organization’s passion about childhood and children development to address their presence in the streets. According to him’l,  “we have connected children who were enrolled into vocational training and some of them have also graduated and have fully settled with all necessary working tools at the expense of our organization”.

Olowookere appreciated the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Women Affairs and other stakeholders, GSKI volunteers, adding that the support is a testament to the power of collaboration and collective impact. And moreover,  underscores the importance of family and community in shaping values and aspirations. ”As an organization, we remain committed to our mission of empowering young people through education. We believe that this programme will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our beneficiaries and contribute to the development of our community”.

He urged the beneficiaries to be steadfast in their academic pursuits for brighter future. The NGO Executive Director pointed out that the initiative embodies the organization’s commitment to promoting education and empowering young minds.

Country Director of the NGO, Mr Alfred Soleye, said selection of beneficiaries was on merit based on the reports of their academic performances. He advised them to embrace their studies seriously with a view to having a prosperous future.

One of the guests, Dr. Peter Olowookere, commended the sponsor of the programme for not only assisting the beneficiaries but uplifting the society and mankind. He enjoined the beneficiaries to ensure best use of all  that were offered.

Representative of the Ekiti Commissioner of Police, Chief Superintendent of Police, Musa Mustapha, said the event is a way of sensitizing the students and providing positive future for them. He remarked that the police have been in good partnership with the sponsor for the good of the children.

Three students, Samuel Ogundana, in SS1, Solomon Peace, in JSS 3 and Iyaniwura Arowolo, in JSS 3 were awarded scholarships to university level. Aside the scholarships, every student was presented Back to School materials containing uniforms, scandals, books, bags among others.
