Reacting to the news making the round about an order and interim injunction restraining the Ogboni of Ipole-Ijesa from installing Dr Olatunde Oginni as the Oba of Oranpon, the Ejemo of Odogbo-Ijesa, Chief Jacob Adedeji Adeyeye has described the matter as laughable and a case of non-issue.
Chief Adeyeye who reacted on behalf of HRH Oba Olatunde Oginni JP said his principal, Oba Oginni is a law abiding citizen who will not like to prejudice any case that is already in court but will like to put some record straight for the public not to be misled by the publication.
“I’m the Ejemo of Odogbo-Ijesa where HRH Olatunde Oginni has been installed by the traditional institution of the community as the first Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesa on 20th of January 2012 after more than 150 people within the community signed the letter that was written to Osun State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy matters demanding for the enthronement of Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesa.”
“Olatunde Oginni has shown to be a worthy leader that can be relied upon since he was installed as Aro ii of this Odogbo-Ijesa in 2009, and considering his contributions to the development of our town through numerous projects running into several millions of naira, we the progressive minded citizen of the town, after several deliberations and consultations resolved to elevate him to be our traditional leader.
“Nobody has ever occupied such a post in the history of the town, so it is not controversial or clash with any existing title. We don’t have any issue with all other titles which include that of ‘Likure of Odogbo-ijesa’. And I’m happy to inform you that an ultra modern palace for the Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesa has just been completed,” said Chief Adeyeye in his reaction to the news.
