NDLEA Bursts Drug Syndicates, Intercepts Cocaine, Tramadol

In a statement issued on Sunday, NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, said the seizures led to multiple arrests following successful raids and investigations.

At the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, operatives uncovered a consignment heading to Libreville, Gabon, which contained 57,420 pills of tramadol (225mg) and 57 pellets of cocaine weighing 1.60kg, all concealed in 71 vehicle side mirrors.

The bust, which took place on July 19, led to the arrest of a cargo agent, Ihekweme Osinachi Benedict. Further investigations also led to the arrest of one Uzochukwu Godspower Chukwurah, at whose residence another 11 parcels of cocaine weighing 1kg were recovered—bringing the total haul to 2.60kg in 68 parcels.
