The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), has granted British Transatlantic Polytechnic, Akure Ondo State full licence to run commercial radio station.
Statement made available to newsmen by the Registrar of the Institution, Mr. Julius Ayodele, says the approval was communicated to the Polytechnic through the Secretary to the National Broadcasting Commission, Mrs. Francisca Aiyetan on behalf of the Director-General.
As contained in the letter dated 30th October, 2024, the radio station would be called Atlantic Radio 98.5 FM, adding that the station would create employment opportunities for the Polytechnic students in various capacity.
It further stated that special consideration would be given to appropriate Mass Communication, MultiMedia and Computer Science students to do their I.T, SIWES and paid employment.
