MC Oluomo Reacts To ‘Kundusi’ Mockery

In a viral video circulating on Tuesday, MC Oluomo addressed the backlash while speaking with delegates of the union. He admitted he is not formally educated but stated that he has used his success to provide quality education for his children, who are now citizens of the United States and the United Kingdom.

“Grammar cannot finish Nigeria. I may not understand English, but I understand Yoruba well. I did not go to school, I went into transport business early and started from the bottom,” he said.

MC Oluomo recalled his journey from being a bus conductor to rising through the ranks in the NURTW, eventually becoming its national president.

Responding directly to the ‘kundusi’ saga, he joked: “So they are mocking me for saying ‘kundusi’? What happened? Is my child not Qudus? You that went to school, what have you done?”

He maintained that though he may make errors in English, his achievements and his children’s upbringing speak for him. “If you and my children speak, I’m not sure you’ll beat them. They are highly educated. I worked hard to give them the best,” he said.

MC Oluomo’s children have been known to publicly defend their father online. In 2022, one of his sons, King West, tackled critics who described his father as a lout, asserting that his father had provided a life of love, care and security.
