The Chairman of the Governing Board of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Engineer Kayode Ojo has commended the people of Ekiti State for the matured manner in which they are handling the ongoing nationwide protest and, for heeding the plea of the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s led Federal government for not embarking on destructive protest that is capable of drawing back the hand of the clock of the country’s economic emancipation and development.
In a statement circulated in Ado-Ekiti by his media aide, Deji Aiyelabowo, Engineer Ojo praised the people for understanding the effort of the President to set Nigeria on the path of progress and economic recovery for the benefit of the citizenry.
According to him, no doubt, that the times are tough as a result of the unavoidable decisions of the government which were aimed at restoring the nation’s lost glory.
He said all that the people needed to see a better Nigeria is more patience for the decisions of government to achieve the set goal in order for everyone to see a greater and better Nigeria.
Engineer Ojo who stated that protesting against some unfriendly decisions of government is a constitutional rights of the citizenry reminded the people that destruction of public assets cannot achieve the objective of building a country of our dream but rather, plunge the nation into unnecessary economic mess.
The All Progressives Congress stalwart urged all Nigerians irrespective of their States of residence to embrace peace and emulate the Ekiti State example in the prosecution of the organised nationwide protest for Nigeria to attain greatness and take her rightful position in the comity of nations.

Supreme Court verdict on Local government autonomy, Kayode Ojo believed that the verdict will now bring government to the grassroots for unhindered development and urged the people to ensure that the objective of the verdict is religiously promoted to change the fortune of the people at the grassroots for their better tomorrow.
