K1 De Ultimate Declares Love for Celestial Church, Says He’s a Proud Member

K1, who is widely known to be a Muslim, made the revelation during a pre-recorded interview with Agbaletu TV on Wednesday, expressing his deep spiritual journey and commitment to seeking God.

“I attend Celestial Church. I am a bonafide member of the Celestial Church. A proud one. In fact, I built a church,” he said. “I sought different religions while trying to know God. There’s nowhere I didn’t go in my quest.”

The Celestial Church of Christ, commonly called “Cele”, is a Pentecostal denomination in the Aladura movement, founded by Prophet Samuel Oshoffa. The church is known for its distinctive white garments worn by worshippers and its strict spiritual practices.

K1 explained that his spiritual journey led him to explore both Islam and Christianity, and he has no regrets about his decision to join the CCC.

This revelation follows recent controversy surrounding the singer after he used the word “Ganusi” in reference to some Islamic clerics during preparations for his mother’s burial. The term, which went viral across social media and public spaces, was interpreted by many as a veiled criticism suggesting that some clerics attend ceremonies for financial benefits.

The comment drew backlash from several Islamic scholars and Nigerians, but the Fuji icon stood by his statement, insisting he had done nothing wrong and saw no reason to offer an apology.
