Justice Commissioner, Apata Seeks Synergy With NUJ To Promote Citizens’ Rights 

Apata who made the call while playing host to the leadership of the NUJ led by its chairman, Mr Kayode Babatuyi said the media must sensitize the citizenry so that they can exploit the various platforms provided by the Ministry to access justice and defend their rights.

The Attorney General who described the NUJ as a partner in progress said the previous collaboration between the duo had been fruitful with citizens knowing more about the activities of the Ministry of Justice.

He explained that the partnership with the umbrella body for journalists was a good step considering the power of the media to reach out to heterogenous audience at a time.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Union, Mr Babatuyi had commended the Attorney General for the positive changes he had brought to the justice sector in the State.

Babatuyi who noted that the ongoing efforts to produce the second edition of the Laws of Ekiti State was an indication that the headship of the Justice ministry was thinking about making access to justice easier for the people.

He called for the enactment of laws that will protect journalists in the State against harassment of all kinds.
