The Israeli government has announced the temporary closure of all its diplomatic missions around the world as its military operations in Iran continue to escalate.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said consular services will no longer be available to Israeli citizens abroad during this period.
The ministry also urged Israeli nationals currently outside the country to fill out an online form with updated details about their location and condition. Those in need of urgent help were advised to contact the ministry’s emergency situation room directly.
Also, Israelis living or travelling abroad were warned to exercise caution, avoid public display of national symbols, keep travel plans off social media, and stay away from events linked to Israel.
This development comes in the wake of a major Israeli airstrike on Iranian territory earlier on Friday, targeting multiple military sites, including nuclear facilities.
Iranian media reported that the attack claimed the lives of several top Iranian military officials, among them the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Gen. Mohammad Bagheri, and the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Gen. Hossein Salami.
In a swift reaction, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, vowed strong retaliation, saying Israel had written a “bitter fate” for itself through its actions.
The situation remains tense as fears mount over further escalation and the risk of a broader regional conflict.
