Attracting development projects, creating employment opportunities and improving infrastructure are among the priorities outlined by the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate for Isokan Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Ekiti State, Hon. Akin Falana, ahead of the forthcoming local government election.
Falana, popularly known as AkinomoAkin, made the commitment while speaking with journalists after an electoral enlightenment and sensitisation programme organised by the Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) for residents of the council area.

The programme, held at Iwore Town Hall, Ifaki-Ekiti, on Tuesday, October 27, provided an opportunity for the candidate to speak about his development priorities and plans for the people if elected chairman.
According to Falana, his proposed administration would focus on effective representation and efforts to attract government projects, programmes and development interventions to Isokan LCDA.
He said young people and women would receive attention through policies designed to expand employment opportunities, encourage economic participation and support their empowerment.
The APC candidate also stressed the need for development initiatives that would respond to the everyday needs of residents and improve living conditions across communities within the council area.
He expressed his intention to pursue programmes that would create opportunities for different groups, particularly those seeking employment and economic support.
Meanwhile, the SIEC sensitisation exercise focused on educating residents about their responsibilities in the electoral process and the importance of participating in the forthcoming local government election.
Electoral officials urged eligible voters to turn out and exercise their civic rights, while calling on political parties, candidates and residents to maintain peace throughout the electoral period.
The commission also used the engagement to promote awareness of the voting process and encourage greater participation in grassroots democracy.
Participants were reminded that local government elections provide residents with an opportunity to choose leaders responsible for addressing community needs and delivering development at the grassroots level.
The exercise formed part of efforts to encourage peaceful participation and strengthen public understanding of the role of elected local government officials in community development.
