APC members in Ise/Orun Local Government have rejected the alleged endorsement of Toyin Okoro, insisting the move lacks grassroots support and violates party procedures ahead of the House of Representatives race.
A large crowd of members and supporters turned out at the party secretariat, chanting, singing, and waving party flags to express their strong opposition to the alleged endorsement. They insisted that the decision does not represent the collective will of the constituency.

The gathering quickly turned into a show of resistance, as members disrupted what they described as a planned endorsement exercise and demanded adherence to due process.
Protesters accused certain political actors of attempting to impose a candidate, raising concerns over alleged external influence linked to Senator Adedayo Adeyeye.
They warned that ignoring grassroots participation could deepen divisions within the party and weaken its structure ahead of the upcoming election.
Supporters of Hon. Ojuawo also gathered at the secretariat, expressing their backing through songs, dancing, and chants, creating a vibrant but controlled atmosphere.
Observers said the show of solidarity sent a clear message about where the loyalty of the grassroots lies and challenged the legitimacy of the alleged endorsement.
Under mounting pressure from members, those behind the planned endorsement were unable to proceed, and the exercise reportedly collapsed.
Some party faithful described the move as a “kangaroo endorsement,” emphasizing that leadership decisions must be guided by transparency, fairness, and wide consultation.
The incident has highlighted rising tensions within the Ise/Orun APC, with members urging party leaders to uphold internal democracy and ensure that candidates for the House of Representatives emerge through proper, inclusive processes.
