I Will Remove Monarch Whose Domain Is Not Peaceful — Gov Adeleke warns

His statement, delivered by spokesperson Olawale Rasheed on Monday in Osogbo, specifically addressed the rulers of Ifon, Erin Osun, and Ilobu communities, urging them to sustain the current peace efforts and prevent further escalation of conflicts.

Security Tightened Amidst Renewed Tensions

The warning follows reports of faceless groups allegedly planning new attacks in the conflict-prone areas. Governor Adeleke assured that security agencies are on high alert to prevent any outbreak of violence.

“The curfew was relaxed for humanitarian reasons, but any attempt to exploit this for renewed violence will lead to a full 24-hour curfew reimposition,” Adeleke stated.

He also reaffirmed that community leaders will be held accountable for any breach of peace, as security agencies are interrogating key figures involved in the crisis.

Tougher Measures on the Horizon

Governor Adeleke did not mince words about his readiness to take firm action:

“I will remove from office any traditional ruler where violence recurs. Royal fathers must call their subjects to order. Enough is enough.”

This latest development follows the relaxation of a 24-hour curfew imposed in March 2025 after communal clashes claimed lives and destroyed properties worth millions of naira.
