The Eleishe of Ulara Ekiti in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Chief Alaba Olanipekun  has urged the public to disregard  the rumour making the rounds  that he was removed as a Chief by the Ekiti State Government.

Chief Olanipekun, in a statement in Ado Ekiti explained that the position of the Deputy Governor, Chief  Monisade Afuye, during a peace parley held at her office between him and the Alamo of Ilamo Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Awoseila was that he should resolve his differences with the monarch.

According to Chief Olanipekun, at no time did the Deputy Governor pronounce him suspended or removed, contrary to the speculations in some quarters.

The Chief commended the Deputy Governor for acting as a peace maker, by rightly advising him to resolve his crisis with the monarch in the interest of the communities involved.

He said: I’m not a troublesome person, I am a man of peace, a team player and positive minded person.

“This misunderstanding did not start from me, I inherited it from my predecessor and I have been trying my best to resolve the matter in a win win manner”.

He pledged to abide by whatever position the government takes on the issue out of respect for constituted authorities and love for Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
