Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has launched a scathing attack on her colleague Eniola Badmus following what she described as a betrayal and public insult.
Taking to Instagram, Bakare accused Badmus of repaying kindness with disrespect. She claimed to have given Badmus her first major acting opportunity at a time when others allegedly shunned her due to her looks.
“I gave you your first major role when no one wanted to associate with you because of your ugly looks and obesity,” Bakare wrote. “All you could pay me back with is to call me animal? Almighty God will judge you… You must collect.”
The online outburst follows a tense altercation between the two at the Owambe Thieves movie premiere on April 13 in Lagos. Witnesses say Badmus distanced herself from Bakare on the dance floor and warned bystanders, “Don’t film us together, we’re not friends.”
The fallout has sparked debate among fans online, with many calling for reconciliation while others take sides. Neither actress has issued a formal statement beyond their initial reactions.
