Colonel Isaac Amponsah, the aide-de-camp (ADC) to Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo, collapsed during a live broadcast at Parliament on Friday.
The incident occurred while President Akufo-Addo was delivering his final State of the Nation address. A video of the event has since gone viral on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
Security personnel and medical staff promptly assisted the ADC and escorted him out of the chamber.
As of the time of this report, the cause of Colonel Amponsah’s collapse remains unclear.
This development follows the announcement in December 2024 by Ghana’s Electoral Commission that John Mahama won the country’s presidential election.
