Head of Service Slumps, Dies in Abuja

Adayilo reportedly slumped in the early hours of Monday and passed away. The immediate cause of her death has not yet been disclosed.

Appointed in October 2024 by President Bola Tinubu, Adayilo was celebrated as the first female and indigenous Head of Service of the FCT.

Her appointment marked a historic milestone, as she became the first Abuja indigene to ever occupy the prestigious position within the FCT Administration.

Mrs. Adayilo’s last official outing was on Thursday when she represented the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, at the G7 security meeting in Abuja.

Her sudden death has sent shockwaves through the FCT civil service and the broader administrative community, where she was widely respected for her dedication and trailblazing role.

Tributes are already pouring in from colleagues, government officials, and community leaders who described her passing as a huge loss not just to the FCT, but to Nigeria’s civil service.

Her death comes less than a year after she assumed office, leaving behind a legacy as a symbol of progress for women and indigenous leadership in the FCT.
