Governor Reshuffles Cabinet, Sacks Five Commissioners

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Tuesday by the governor’s media aide, Mukhtar Gidado, in Bauchi.

The affected commissioners are Dr. Jamila Dahiru (Education), Abubakar Bununu (Internal Security and Home Affairs), Usman Danturaki (Information and Communication), Prof. Simon Yalams (Agriculture), and Yakubu Hamza (Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation).

According to Gidado, the decision underscores the governor’s commitment to introducing fresh perspectives and renewed energy into the administration to address emerging challenges effectively.

“In a strategic effort to reinvigorate governance and ensure optimal service delivery to the people of Bauchi State, the governor has approved the reconstitution of his cabinet.

“This routine measure aims to enhance the administration’s effectiveness. His Excellency extends his profound gratitude to the outgoing commissioners for their dedication, service, and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of Bauchi State,” the statement read.

The governor also expressed appreciation for the efforts of the outgoing commissioners in advancing key policies and initiatives of the administration and wished them success in their future endeavors.

Eight Nominees Await Assembly Approval

As part of the cabinet restructuring, Governor Mohammed has forwarded a list of eight nominees for appointment as commissioners to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for confirmation.

The nominees are Isa Tilde, Abdullahi Mohammed, Dr. Bala Lukshi, Usman Shehu, Iliyasu Gital, Prof. Titus Ketkukah, Adamu Gabarin, and Dr. Mohammed Lawal.

The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering impactful development and improving the welfare of Bauchi State residents. The reshuffle, he added, aligns with the administration’s broader mission to fulfill its mandate effectively.
