The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has extended his warmest congratulations to the immediate past Governor of the state, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on the occasion of his 61st birthday.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji described Dr. Fayemi as “a rare gift to Ekiti, Nigeria, and the global community,” citing his immense contributions to the growth and development of Ekiti State, which have made the state an enviable subnational entity in Nigeria and beyond.

Governor Oyebanji expressed gratitude to God for sparing Dr. Fayemi’s life to witness another birthday in good health and sound mind, and for giving him a prominent place in the quest for a greater Ekiti as a respected statesman.
The Governor noted that Dr. Fayemi’s achievements are a testament to God’s immense grace, and that history will be kind to him for using public office as a platform for selfless service to mankind at the state, national, continental, and global levels.
Oyebanji described Dr. Fayemi as a mentor, role model, builder of men, passionate believer in greater Ekiti, and an incurable optimist in the prosperity of the Nigerian nation, whose impact as a scholar, pro-democracy activist, committed progressive, transformational leader, and eminent statesman continues to inspire the younger generation.
The Governor commended Dr. Fayemi’s experience as a two-term Governor of Ekiti State, Federal Minister, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and currently as President of the Forum for Regions in Africa (FORAF), which has made him a renowned global voice for good governance.
On behalf of the Government and people of Ekiti State, Governor Oyebanji congratulated Dr. Fayemi on his 61st birthday, praying that God will continue to bless him with good health, wisdom, and an excellent spirit as he continues to contribute to nation-building.
