FG To Sell 753-Unit Housing Estate Recovered From Emefiele

The estate, recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), was handed over during a ceremony at the ministry’s headquarters in Mabushi, Abuja, on Tuesday.

Minister Ahmed Dangiwa praised the EFCC’s efforts, describing the recovery as a “significant milestone” in ensuring looted assets serve public interest. He announced plans for a structural assessment of the estate to determine habitability.

The ministry will sell the units to the public through a “transparent and competitive process” via the Renewed Hope Portal, while also reserving some for special government use.

EFCC Chairman, Olanipekun Olukoyede, said the handover reflects the agency’s commitment to ensuring that recovered assets are used transparently and for public good.

“This is to ensure looted assets are not looted again,” he said.
