Hon. Olusola Fatoba’s Constituency office in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state, has kicked against the Justice Development and Peace Initiative, JPDI, Catholic Dioceses of Ekiti state and Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Ekiti state chapter’s rating on Hon Fatoba Olusola who is representing Ekiti Central Federal constituency 1 at the House of Representatives.
An online news publication said the independent findings by the JDPI and NUJ, on the performances of the Reps members representing the Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 1 and 2, Hon. Fatoba Olusola Steve and Biodun Omoleye were rated “poor in the areas of engagement with the people, education of the people on government policies, capacity building, accessibility and connection with their route”.
While reacting to the news, the Fatoba’s office through the spokesperson, Mr Ayo Owoeye faulted the JDPI and the NUJ’s report, describing it as absolutely fabrication and mere falsehood which should be ignored by reasonable people of the state.
“While it is the right of any group or body to carry out any accessment or investigation, such accessment or investigation should be done by reaching out to the right people for facts and figures on the performances of the Reps members, especially Hon. Fatoba Olusola Steve representing Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 1.
“To set the record straight, the constituency office of Hon Fatoba will like to state emphatically that the rating was pure fallacy and mischievous as the Reps member has since his inauguration been accessible, very close and helpful to his people by interacting well with members of his constituency and educating them on government policies.
His spokesperson noted that Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 1 has two local governments which consists of Ado and Irepodun-Ifelodun LG respectively with over 500, 000 population of which the independent bodies only interviewed 87 people to arrive at their verdict which to us does not represent the views of the majority.
Moreover, Hon. Fatoba since his assumption of office has recorded many remarkable achievements in the areas of Education, healthcare, infrastructure, employment and human empowerment.
He has also been representing his constituency actively well at the National Assembly by contributing meaningfully to motions and debates that can bring progress and development to his people.
However, the following are the highlights of the achievements of the lawmaker over the years in order not to mislead the general public with the said investigations carried out by JDPI and NUJ
