The Obalodo designate of Oye kingdom, Mr Bamitale Oguntoyinbo on Sunday visited households that have ancestral connections with Obalodo’s lineage in preparation for his installation.
As part of traditions and customs of conferring Obalodo on the next person in line, various households poured water at his feet to pray for him.
The residents of Ilodo quarters and Oye community came out in large numbers with excitement to welcome him.
Heads of the households prayed for him and wished him long life and a successful tenure.
No fewer than 250 youths from nooks and crannies of Oye-Ekiti came out in large numbers to embrace him.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were on duty to control traffic and ensure that auto crash does not occure during his visits to strategic places and households in the community. While security agencies, such as the Nigerian police and Amotekun Corps were on guard to maintain law and order during the programme.
Oguntoyinbo was led by the chiefs to the palace of Oloye of Oye-Ekiti, Oba Oluwole Ademolaju with residents and drummers singing various cultural songs.
Reacting, the Oloye of Oye-Ekiti, Oba Oluwole Ademolaju, welcomed him to his palace and wished him a successful tenure.
The monarch advised him to lead his people on the path of development and peaceful coexistence.
Similarly, two prominent indigenes of Oye-Ekiti commended Obalodo designate for his various achievements towards the development of the town and care for his people.
One of them, Mr Olusanya Adeyemi described Oguntoyinbo as a nice person, respectful, responsible and that he gives priority to the needs of his people.
” Bamitale is very articulate and nice, I am not surprised that his family chose him to become the next Obalodo of Oye kingdom.
“He gives priority to the wellbeing of his people and I want to urge the people of Oye- Ekiti and Ilodo quarters to give him adequate support to improve the development of the community”,he said.
Another indigene, Chief Samuel Ajiboye, said Oguntoyinbo is a very humble and friendly person who does not look down on people and helps less privileged individuals within the community.
“Bamitale is a leader of leaders. He is very humble and uses every office he has occupied to impact lives of our people positively,” he said.
In his address of appreciation, the Obalodo designate, Mr Bamitale Oguntoyinbo urged his people to embrace love, peace to promote development in the community.
He advised them not to indulge in conflict during and after his installation ceremony.
Oguntoyinbo thanked the security agencies and the Federal road safety corps as well as the leaders and youths for their love and support.
“By the grace of God Almighty, I will soon be conferred the Obalodo of Oye kingdom in few days, anybody carrying negative rumours of my emergency is a novice.
“I want to appeal to all sons and daughters of Oye kingdom to avoid conflict and embrace peace,” he said.
