Ex-NAPS Boss, Olalere Joins Race For NANS’ Leadership

The Immediate Past National President of National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) Comrade Olalere Benedict Adetunji, has Declared intention to contest for the Senate President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).

Adetunji’s experience according to his profile and background cut across student unionism over the years and has served in various capacities in uplifting and ensuring that the student’s welfare is protected.

In statement of intent made available to newsmen in Ibadan, Adetunji highlighted things he would do different to ensure that the interests of his people are well protected.

The Statement Reads thus: “I appreciate every singular privilege given to serve at different capacities in the student’s constituency. It serves as expository experiences in restoring and contributing to the dignity of our dear students’ community and the Nation at Large. I’m Comrade Olalere Benedict Adetunji, the immediate Past National President of National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS). I have a strong desire in pushing forth  my activism in the student’s community at National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).

“National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) is an umbrella body for all Nigerian Students both at home and in the diaspora. Over the years, the Association has been the voice of Nigerian Students at all levels and has been contributing to the welfares of Nigerian Students in one way or the other. After several observations on the activities of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), I decided to aspire for the position of Senate President of this noble Association.

“My Aspiration: The aspiration is borne out of passion to contribute my own quota to the advancement of Nigerian Students at large by introducing more innovation and creativities to the Senate Arm of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS). I will be coming up with lots of ideas that will benefit the entire Nigerian Students across the board, set up strategic committee in the Senate Arm to oversee some existing issues and build a robust relationship with the Senate Arm of Federal Republic of Nigeria to uphold the Constitution of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in fullest.

“The Constitution of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) gives a wide opportunity for the advancement of Nigerian Students but there is need for a critical study and understanding to utilize most of the Constitution. However, I am going to work tirelessly to ensure that within the stipulated time of frame, a lot of constitution upliftment would have been attended to, to foster the will of the National Executive Council of NANS with great opportunity to discharge their duties without delay. 

“Conclusively, I reverently declare my ambition to the entire students populace, inestimable senators, leaders and stakeholders as I aspire for the Office of the Senate President of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), with code name RENEWED CONSOLIDATION 2023, Together we can keep the narration positive, I’m humbly seeking for your Support in all Ramifications”.
