A public commentator and former Commissioner for Information in Ekiti State, Hon Lanre Ogunsuyi has advised the outgoing President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, to quietly return to Daura, his home town in retirement. Knowing that ninety percent of Nigerians are dissatisfied with his output in office.
Hon Ogunsuyi stated this in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital, while assessing the performance of the outgone President.
“My assessment of Buhari’s administration since 2015 is that of an elephant getting pregnant and delivering a mouse. All the promises in the area of finance, fight against corruption, health and other areas were not fulfilled”. It’s like his regime was meant to put pains on Nigerians. Said Ogunsuyi.
While wishing the incoming administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu well, Hon Ogunsuyi urged him to place Nigerians above all other considerations. Just as he equally advised Asiwaju to put round pegs in round holes.
“Unlike the outgone administration where the Minister of Education said he knew nothing about education before he was appointed as minister for education. Said the former Commissioner.
The ebullient public commentator was of the opinion that the new president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, should look for experts that would bail Nigerians out of the mess they find themselves.
According to him, “if you look at debt servicing ratio of the State and Federal Government, it’s going to be a miracle because the incoming administration had been outsourced to all kinds of borrowing and it would be a miracle for them to be able to perform under the yoke of the debts”.
Honourable Ogunsuyi said Tinubu has the goodwill of Nigerians, adding that it’s his hope that he wouldn’t squander the goodwill as Nigerians are keen to throw overboard the yoke that had been put on them by the President Buhari’s administration in the last eight years. He concluded.
