The Ekiti State Education Officer’s and Therapists have been charged to make punctuality and professionalism a priority in oder to ensure effective service delivery.
The Director-General Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship (BCOC) Hon. Mrs. Olawumi Famuyiwa gave the charge at the training programme, titled “Fundamental Ethics and Proficiency Training of Schools Professional Staff,” which was organized by the Ekiti State government held at Special School, Ikere Ekiti.
The training was organized to equip the newly employed education officers and therapists with the necessary skills and mindset to effectively serve the State’s special needs population.
During her presentation, Mrs. Famuyiwa underscored the crucial role of punctuality and planning in ensuring the successful delivery of services to the students.
“As professionals entrusted with the care and education of our special needs students, it is essential that we make accountability our watchword and prioritize time management,” she emphasized.
The training was officially declared open by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Education and Social Inclusion, Princess Adetoun Agboola who spoke through the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Rehabilitation and Mental Health, Mrs. Funmilayo Fatoba.
In her remarks, Princess Agboola expressed her gratitude for the training and its significance in empowering the newly employed staff. “This training will afford the newly employed staff the opportunity to know those things needed to discharge their duties productively as they shall be dealing with special people,” she said.
Furthermore, Mrs. Agboola revealed that the Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji administration had recently employed a total of thirty-one (31) education officers and five (5) therapists to work in Ekiti State’s three (3) special schools. She encouraged the participants to be diligent in their duties, emphasizing the importance of their roles in the lives of the state’s special needs Students.
The training is part of the Ekiti State government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of education and support services for individuals with special needs, ensuring that they receive the best possible care and opportunities for success.
