The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources has sealed off an illegal water factory known as “A1 Pure Water” situated behind 132 kv in the Omisanjana area of Ado Ekiti, which was found to be operating unlawfully.
A team of Environmental Health Officers inspected the water factory and uncovered several violations of regulations. It was revealed that the factory had been operating without the necessary permits and licenses, rendering its operations illegal.
Moreover, the source of water used for the production of sachet water was identified as water from abandoned water well from a location across the road.
The practice raised serious health concerns among Environmental Health Officers who were on a sanitary routine inspection of the area as the activities of the owner posed a significant threat to public health.

The water factory was found to violate several standards and requirements set forth for sachet water production, further exacerbating the risk to public health.
In light of these findings, The Environmental Sanitation Taskforce officials from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, proceeded to seal off the water factory.
The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Erelu Tosin Aluko Ajisafe expressed her concern over the situation, stating, “The illegal operation of A1 Pure Water represents a clear disregard for public health and safety regulations. We will not tolerate such actions that put the lives of our citizens at risk.”
