Ekiti State Command Engages Stakeholders, Seeks More Police-Community Relations

The meeting, which was held at the Officers Mess Auditorium, had in attendance Government Officials, Traditional Leaders, Clergymen, Transport Union Representatives, Members of Police Community Relations Community (PCRC), Representatives of each tribe in the State, members of the Press, amongst other important dignitaries and Stakeholders.

In His address, The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP JOSEPH ERIBO, enumerated some of the essence of the National Police Day as approved by the Federal Government to be celebrated on 7th of April Annually, which Include the remembrance of the sacrifice of the fallen Heroes of the Nigeria Police Force, the sacrifice of those who have retired and those still in active service, Stakeholders’ engagement and Police-Community relations, amongst others.

The CP, while delivering his Speech, appreciated the President and Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for approving the National Police Day, not forgetting the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for leading the course of the National Police Day.

The CP equally acknowledged the Support of the State Government under the Leadership of the Executive Governor, His Excellency Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji. Also, the CP appreciated the support and collaboration received so far from the Stakeholders as well as the good people of Ekiti in the fight against crimes and criminality, while advocating for more synergy and collaboration for effective service delivery, as he pledged that the Command will continue to be intentional and thorough in ensuring the safety of all and sundry.

While paying tribute to the NPF fallen Heroes and those still in active service, the Chairman, Christian Association ofNigeria(C.A.N), Ekiti State Chapter, Rev. Emmanuel Aribasoye, the Executive Chairman, Ido-Osi Local Government Area, Hon. Bamidele A. Omoleye, and other Stakeholders who spoke during the event appreciated the supreme sacrifice of the fallen Heroes of the Nigeria Police Force as well as the sacrifices of those who are still serving our dear Nation. They all promised to continue to support the Police while calling on the Government to consider the welfare of the servicing Officers and the families of the deceased Officers.
