The Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye has extended heartfelt greetings to all Muslims in the State and beyond to mark a conclusive and successful end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The Speaker in a press statement said it was a positive coincidence that the fasting periods for the Muslim and Christian Community partly interlocked this year, creating a good picture of religious harmony.
“As Muslims all over the world come together to celebrate Eid el-Fitr, this year, a month of fasting, prayer, and deep introspection, I joyfully join in celebrating the crowning of the period. Eid el-Fitr, beyond dining or wining, marks a moment of discipline, self denial and reflection.” The Speaker stated.
Aribasoye enjoined Muslim faithful to internalise the lessons of the season and continue to exhibit the inherent values and impacts of the significant exercise.
“As we break our fasts and get into the funfair mood with friends and family, let us remember the weight of the sacrifices expressed during the holy month and the gains of the most strategic and spiritual month of Ramadan.” Aribasoye pointed out.
He noted that if the lessons and practices adhered to during Ramadan would be made a sustained way of life, the nation at large would be impacted positively for integrity, national rebirth and marked progress.
The Ekiti Speaker said, “I acknowledge that the Muslim community plays a key role in the development of our dear state. Your commitment to peace and progress is not downplayed. Through the concerted efforts of all of us we shall continue to build an inclusive and progressive state.
Aribasoye urged them to continue to support and pray for the Biodun Oyebanji administration adding that positive pronouncements promote positive outcomes.
