Youths in Ekiti South Federal Constituency I on Saturday declared support for the re-election of BAO/MCA ’26 and endorsed Hon. Rufus Ojuawo for a second term in 2027, marking early political alignment ahead of the next general elections.

The endorsement was announced during a Youth Engagement and Strategic Endorsement Programme held at St. Stephen Anglican Church Hall, Erinwa, Ise-Ekiti.
The event drew a large turnout of young people, community leaders, and political stakeholders.
Participants from Ikere, Ekiti South West, and Ise/Orun Local Government Areas used the forum to discuss governance, development, and the future of the constituency. After deliberations, they unanimously endorsed the re-election bids.
They cited impactful representation, ongoing development projects, and sustained engagement with grassroots communities as reasons for their decision.

Youth leaders at the event said continuity in leadership is crucial to sustaining current initiatives in youth empowerment and infrastructure.
They argued that a change in leadership could disrupt progress already recorded.
The programme was themed “Consolidating Progress, Empowering Youth, Securing the Future.” It highlighted the increasing role of young people in political decisions and inclusive governance within the constituency.
Political analysts noted that the development reflects growing youth participation in politics and could influence political dynamics in Ekiti South Federal Constituency I as preparations for the 2027 elections begin.
They added that it also positions the youth bloc as a key factor in determining leadership outcomes and demanding accountability in governance.
