The Leader of the Senate, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, who moved  the endorsement motion on behalf of other National Assembly Members in the State and seconded by a ranking member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Honourable Olufemi Bamisile, in his remark explained  that it’s a pay back time for President Tinubu and Governor Oyebanji, saying one good turn deserves another.

The Senate Leader stated that Governor Oyebanji and his Deputy, Chief Mrs. Monisade Afuye, have shown an example of how to be humble in power which necessitated the endorsement of the PBAT and BAO/MCA.

Opeyemi Bamidele while warning Ekiti people against being deceived by the African Democratic Congress (ADC), told the gathering that some people would soon be moving round to lure them to the party but advised them to reject such vehemently, saying ADC is meant to bring people backward noting that Ekiti is an APC and progressive State.

Also, the leader of the opposition party in Ekiti and former governor of the State, Ayodele Fayose,  while speaking on behalf of the former governors in Ekiti, said the gathering is unique as the former governors and all the National Assembly Members in the State unanimously endorsed President Tinubu and Governor Oyebanji with his deputy,  Chief Mrs Afuye.

The former governor Fayose who said he would like to join all well meaning Nigerians, particularly Ekiti people to endorse publicly without reservation, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for second term as well as Governor Biodun Oyebanji,  described Oyebanji as humility personified individual including his deputy, Chief Monisade Afuye.

In his response, Governor Oyebanji appreciated Ekiti people on behalf President Bola Tinubu for the vote of confidence passed on both the President and himself to serve for second term with the pledge to continue to make the people happy.

Oyebanji  who described the event as first of its kind in the Southwest as Ekiti endorsed the President, used the occasion to appeal to all those that are not having voter’s card to ensure that they all get registered by the time the registration begins in August,

Adding that, that’s what they need to bring himself and the President back for second term to continue the good governance as he promised to make provision for all that is needed for the exercise to be seamless.

Speaking on behalf of the three people that recently quitted PDP for APC in the State,  that’s,  Senator Biodun Olujimi,  Barr.

Obafemi Adewale, and Hon. Babatunde Omotayo, who were received by the APC National Secretary, Senator Basiru Ajibola, Senator Olujimi said they’re well impressed by all that BAO has been doing in Ekiti, especially the prevailing peace in the land.

She therefore thanked the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for accepting them into the one big family and prayed that the party would continue to witness a better turnaround now that they have become members.

Earlier in his welcome address,  the Chairman endorsement committee and former deputy governor of the State,  Surv. Abiodun Aluko, said the event was a confirmation of the series of endorsements in the State.

According to Aluko, “It’s a reflection of a collective will of Ekiti people to stand firmly behind transformational leadership. Today marks not just a political ceremony but a celebration of a shared vision, unity and progressas”. He said.
