The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council, has congratulated the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji on his emergence as the Silverbird Man of the Year 2024.
The Council in a statement co-signed by the Chairman of the Union, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi and the Assistant Secretary, comrade Victor Akinkuolie, described the emergence of the Governor as well deserved considering his commitment to good governance.
The management of Silverbird Television had on Wednesday, January 1st announced Governor Oyebanji as winner of Silver bird Man of the Year award 2024, having polled the highest number of votes to beat other nominees for the award category.
The Ekiti NUJ described the award as one of the reward and evidence of purposeful leadership and inclusivity urging the Governor to continue to impact in the lives of the people of the state.
While rejoicing with the Governor over the award, the union equally congratulated the people of the state and urged them to continue to support the Governor.
The statement cited various developmental projects embarked upon by the Governor which had endeared his administration into the minds of the people of the state to include infrastructure and tourism development, social intervention for the less privileged, inclusive governance, agriculture, rural development among others.
