Ekiti NUJ Berates Marketers For Hoarding Fuel …urges government to wield big stick on culprits 

The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council has condemned the action of some desperate marketers who have started hoarding fuel following the statement of the new president, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on fuel subsidy removal.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has  summoned an emergency meeting  with the leadership of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) to a meeting in his office by 4pm today.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Chairman of the council, Comrade Rotimi Ojomoyela and the Secretary  Comrade Kayode Babatuyi.

According to the statement, the action of the marketers shows that they only care about their personal gains not minding the consequential effects on Nigerians and the development of the country.

The statement urges the  leadership of the petroleum marketers to call their members to order and ask them to wait for further government directive on the matter 

It also appeals to government to wield it’s big stick on erring marketers saying their actions if not checked may lead to another crisis.
