Ekiti, Lagos Partnership On Fabrication Of Dino Bins, Designed To Transfer Technology   —  Information Commissioner

Olatunbosun

Rt. Hon. Olatunbosun, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, described the partnership between Lagos and Ekiti States on tackling environmental challenges and Waste Management as a mutually beneficial arrangement to transfer knowledge and technology.

Olatunbosun said that “while it is true that 15 technicians from Lagos State Waste Management Authority are currently on ground in Ado Ekiti to help fabricate cost effective, good quality waste bins, it has become necessary to also note that nine indigenous artisans are actively involved in the production of the Dino bins as trainees”.

The Commissioner added that “the ongoing arrangement is in fact, a proactive training of trainers procedure as the participants would be expected to further train more local artisans with the knowledge gained in the course of fabricating the Dino Bins”.

Stressing that the skill acquisition programme was tailored to transfer knowledge to local artisans on how to fabricate waste management and allied equipment, Olatunbosun assured that the Biodun Oyebanji administration would continue to adhere with the State’s Local Content Law, adding that Government remained committed to the development and General well-being of people in the State, particularly the artisans and technicians.

He solicited the support of all stakeholders in the State for the developmental efforts of Government and advised them to shun rumours and gossips, stressing that Government could only operate optimally when it has the full support of the populace.

A 16-year old SS2 student of Christ Schools, Ado Ekiti, Master Michael Adejuwon who is one of the trainees at the site of the fabrication, when interviewed, said the programme was part of his entrepreneurship training and expressed gratitude to the State Government for the opportunity provided through the scheme.

Master Adejuwon said that he had gained a lot of knowledge since the beginning of the programme and would judiciously utilize the knowledge acquired in the scheme.
