Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has appealed to opposition politicians to shelve their ambitions and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027.
Speaking at a statewide endorsement rally in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, Governor Aiyedatiwa said the campaign for the continuation of the Tinubu-led administration under the Renewed Hope agenda has already commenced in the South West.
The event was organised to mobilise support for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji of Ekiti State ahead of his second-term bid.
Aiyedatiwa, who described Tinubu as a leader with a proven record of performance, said all 23 governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are fully behind the President’s re-election project.
“President Tinubu will be re-elected come 2027. He has the full backing of all APC governors. The Renewed Hope agenda must continue beyond 2027, and the journey begins from here in the South West,” he said.
He also commended Governor Oyebanji, popularly known as BAO, for what he called visible developmental strides across Ekiti State, describing him as a visionary leader deserving of a second term.
“Ekiti is lucky to have someone like BAO as governor. The developmental projects across the state are clear for everyone to see. He deserves another term to consolidate on his achievements,” the Ondo governor stated.
He urged party members and stakeholders in Ekiti to mobilise massive support for the APC in the next election and work towards a total victory across the 16 local government areas, similar to the party’s clean sweep of all 18 councils in Ondo during the 2024 governorship election.
