Ekiti Community Pledges Bounty For Information on Whereabouts of Prospective Traditional Chief

It could be recalled that Michael Lekan Asubiojo of Olumirakun dynasty in Ebisamo Compound Ijuku Community, Okebedo-Quarters, Ilawe -Ekiti,  the first son of the Asubiojo family, was supposed to be installed as the new Asamo of the community following the demise of his father, Giwa Asubiojo. 

However, due to his Christian beliefs, Lekan declined the offer. The community has since attributed various calamities and other misfortunes occuring in the community to his refusal to obey the oracle’s command. The concerned authorities have therefore urged members of the public that whoever has a useful information on the whereabout of Lekan Asubiojo, the (Asamo-Elect), who fled the Community after his refusal to perform the traditional rites which are considered quite germane to Asamo title, would be adequately compensated.

According to a source, the Elewere of Ijuku, Chief Olarotimi Ojo, among other Elders, said they have been making discreet moves and that they have offered a good reward to anyone who could expedite action on bringing Lekan Asubiojo back to the community for installment.

The source also revealed that some embittered youths in the community recently stormed his bosom friend’s house, Mr. Isaac Adeosun, assaulted his family, and threatened to take his life if he does not disclose Asubiojo’s whereabout.

“The Elders (Kingmakers) have pledged a huge rewards for anyone that could facilitate the recovery of  Lekan Asubiojo,  who they are determined to bring back to the community as they believe that his absence and refusal to accept his late father’s title is causing the disasters in the community.

“As we speak, Lekan Asubiojo is on the run, leaving his wife, children and siblings, and no one knows his whereabout. I just hope he’s safe wherever he is,” the source concluded.
