Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti Central Senatorial District have endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term in the 2026 governorship election.
At a gathering in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, party stakeholders, led by Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and former Deputy Governor Professor Modupe Adelabu, commended Oyebanji’s performance, citing his developmental strides across the state.
Oyebanji Welcomes Endorsement, Open to Competition
In his response, Governor Oyebanji expressed appreciation for the endorsement, assuring the people of his continued commitment to service.
“We accept this endorsement with humility and gratitude. However, this does not exclude anyone from contesting under our party’s platform. Whoever is interested should come forward,” he said.
He also credited President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms for making more resources available to states, which he said have enabled his administration to implement projects across all 16 Local Government Areas of Ekiti.
Bamidele, Adelabu Applaud Oyebanji’s Leadership
Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele described the endorsement as a formal affirmation of earlier discussions among party leaders. He praised Oyebanji’s leadership for fostering political unity and ensuring governance continuity.
“Ekiti State has never had it this good. The most significant achievement of this administration is its ability to unite leaders under one platform. His leadership is ensuring sustainable development,” Bamidele stated.
Chairperson of the Ekiti Central APC Elders’ Forum, Professor Modupe Adelabu, also lauded Oyebanji’s achievements in health, agriculture, and education, emphasizing that he deserves another term.
With this endorsement, Oyebanji’s re-election bid gains momentum as the state prepares for the 2026 governorship election.
