Ekiti Assembly Honours Boy Who Scored 370 in JAMB … Aribasoye hails record-breaking performance

The recognition came during plenary, following a motion of urgent public importance raised by the member representing Ijero Constituency, Hon. Ademola Ojo. He informed the House of the outstanding achievement of Master Afolabi, a student of Icons Comprehensive College, Akure, Ondo State.

Hon. Ojo described Afolabi’s performance as “excellent and unprecedented,” noting that no candidate in Ekiti or Ondo State has achieved such a score in the last 15 years.

In a statement signed by Mr. Olasunkanmi Ekundayo, Director of Information Services at the Assembly, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye commended the student’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Odunayo Afolabi—both lawyers for raising a child who has brought honour to both the family and the state.

Presenting a symbolic handshake as a mark of honour, Rt. Hon. Aribasoye encouraged the young scholar not to relent in his academic pursuit.

Other lawmakers also took turns to commend Afolabi’s remarkable feat, urging him to remain focused and avoid distractions as he prepares to enter the university.

While addressing the Assembly, the brilliant student attributed his success to hard work and the unwavering support of his parents.

He revealed his UTME scores as follows: English Language – 80, Mathematics – 98, Physics – 98, and Chemistry – 94, making him the highest JAMB scorer so far in both Ekiti and Ondo States.
