The candidate contesting for the State House of Assembly under the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ekiti South West Constituency 1, Ilawe-Ekiti in Ekiti South West Area of Ekiti State before stepping down, Mr. Segun Abioye has described the last Saturday election as very peaceful.

Abioye, who cast his vote at unit 8, ward 5 in Adin Quarters, Ilawe-Ekiti, while speaking with Journalists, said, though the turnout was low which according to him was because the governorship election was not in line with the State House of Assembly election.

It could be recalled that Mr. Segun Abioye decided to step down for the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Mr. Tony Adaramodu, the declared winner, in just few days to the election.

According to Abioye, “I decided to step down for the APC Candidate when I realised that almost all the leaders in SDP have decamped to APC shortly after the gubernatorial election.

” Though, they all believed that I would win the election going by the number of my supporters and the strategies in place”. Said Segun Abioye.
