Ekiti State government is to spend N375,790,077,618.15 for the 2025 budget with a sealing of N444,182,344,696.00. This is in pursuance of its sustainable growth of the economy and to further enhance the well-being of the people, compared to the 2024 budget of N375,152,157,569.39. A differential of 1%
The Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr Femi Ajayi who said this during the budget breakdown at the government house, Ado-Ekiti, explained that the appropriation bill was presented to the House of Assembly on October 29, 2024 and assented to by governor Biodun Oyebanji on December 30, 2024.
Tagged, “Budget of Sustainable Impact”, Ajayi remarked ,’is to further enhance the actualization of the administration’s policy of shared prosperity through the Six-Point agenda of the government, which is also in line with the 30-year development plan’. It is made up of recurrent/capital ratios of 51:49.
The 2025 budget recurrent estimates stand at N192, 061,570,488.61 compared to 2024 that amounted to N180, 354,337.39, a differential of 6 per cent. 2025 capital estimates stand at 183,728,507,129.54 while that of 2024 represented N191,799, 820,299.90 and a differential of 4 percent.
The Budget and Economic Planning Commissioner added that all sectors of the economy were captured within the ambit of available resources. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to fiscal accountability and transparency.
Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Hon.Taiwo Olatunbosun reacting to questions from journalists after the budget breakdown, cleared gray issues, stressing the administration’s concern for people-oriented programmes.
Chief of Staff to governor Biodun Oyebanji, Mr Niyi Adebayo believed that Ekiti is on the path of economic renaissance. He said the state has not borrowed money from any quarters, pointing out that it will continue to ensure prudent management of resources.
The CoS noted that the budget will drive the policies and programmes of the government. He solicited the support of the people of the state and other residents to the Oyebanjl-led government.
