To combat some of the challenges confronting safe use of the highways especially during festive seasons which include the ugly trend of using trailers and truck to convey human beings, night trips, fatigue, speed violations, driving under influence and over loading of vehicles, the Federal Road Safety Corps has collaborated with the Nigeria Bar Association and State Judiciaries for timely prosecution of drivers and vehicle owners caught contravening established traffic regulations.
The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Ekiti State Corps Commander, Elijah Olusola Joseph reechoed this while reiterating the commands resolve in ensuring safer road for all road users in Ekiti state during this years Eld-kabir sallah celebrations.
Corps Commander Elijah Olusola Joseph emphasized this during a press briefing to commence year 2024 sallah special patrol operations in the state.
The Sector Commander emphasized that, to achieve the vision of eradicating road traffic crashes and creating a safe motoring environment during the sallah celebrations, the command will scale up its operational and enlignment activities.
He further admonished road users to adhere to all traffic rules and to avoid traffic violations such as dangerous driving, overspending, overloading of vehicles with goods and humans, driving against traffic and drunk driving during the festive period.
Seven hundred and fifty two (752) officers and men of the command as well as special marshals have been deployed from all FRSC formations within the state for the week long special patrol commencing 14th June, 2024
