EFCC Monitoring Local Government Funds Nationwide – Chairman

Olukoyede made this known on Thursday while receiving leaders of the National Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP), led by Isaac Abrak, at the EFCC headquarters.

Responding to calls for stricter oversight of local government finances following their financial autonomy, Olukoyede assured that the EFCC is already tracking fund allocations to ensure proper utilization.

“We have a department called Fraud Risk Assessment and Control that closely monitors payments, contracts, and fund releases to ensure they are used for their intended purposes,” he said.

He urged NCYP members to promote integrity and unity among Nigerians, emphasizing that ethical conduct transcends religious affiliations.

Earlier, Abrak highlighted the need for prudent resource management at the grassroots level, stating that proper financial oversight could drive development and reduce poverty.

He also commended Olukoyede’s leadership, praising the EFCC’s professionalism in handling high-profile cases, including Nigeria’s victory in the P&ID case in 2023.

The youth leader further expressed concern over the increasing involvement of Northern youths in cybercrime and urged the EFCC to intensify its crackdown on internet fraud in the region.
