The General Overseer of Holy Trinity Authority Prophetic Church International, Ado – Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, Prophet Omitade James Olatunji, who God has been greatly using for everyone that comes around him particularly for prophetic revelations, in this interview with OMOTAYO OLATUNDE, speaks among others on why Christmas should be involved in active politics. Excerpts;
Sir, how did the journey start?
I was born in Ijan Ekiti into Catholic Church and I’m still interested in the happenings in Catholic church till today despite having my own ministry.
I got Higher National Diploma in Electrical Electronics from Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.I later proceeded to Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko, Ondo State for my Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management.
I started the ministry in 2011, after I declined to be a Rev. Father in 1987 it may interest you to know that my brother who also noticed priestly calling upon my life took me to catholic seminary in Akure This ministry came from a revelation I was born with
My experience so far about human being is that most spiritual battle we face is not much of attack but about personal deficiency of knowledge, wisdom and morals,
People lack morals and understanding, many things that are medical in nature, many people consider it to be spiritual attack, linking it to be arrows from the enemies.
The major thing is that people lack understanding about the nature of the body and the medical nature of human being.
Another area people lack understanding is about the teachings and patience, we lack teachings about patience nowadays.
More reason people are running after materials things, like, I want to be this and that, I want to outshine another person is because of worldliness of this world while people forget to run for what will give them comfort and peace, this is so sad.
The worldly pattern of this life cannot take anyone to heaven especially Christians who allow the worldly pattern to shape their life and destiny.
To God be the glory, in my ministry, we don’t preach what people want to hear or pamper people all in the name of bringing money to the church or to be recognized unnecessarily in my ministry, nothing of such by His grace, no seat is also special for anyone including myself because we are all equal before God.
There is one thing that I believe is the hall mark of the church, which is what God said “preach my will to the people” that everyone of us should submit to the will of God even when it’s very tough to do, many people who visit me for counseling, I always tell them this is what God said on this and that is what will surely happen.
What is your reaction to the number of churches and evils in the land?
The reason for many churches and high criminality is that the true gospel of love has not been preached, the gospel that is been preached is one sided, what do we get where in a place, what you hear is “take your glory” the glory that is not lost, only that people lack morals, when you have good morals, your glory will sure blossom, but people don’t have good training, that’s the reason why people don’t care about one another even when you give them money and feed them they don’t still care , for example, there is one of my boys here, I paid his school fees so that when ASUU call off the strike he will not be a burden on his parents, the boy was crying and I asked him why he said he is not having any uncle that can sponsor him, I then said, he should not worry that God will take control, I also told him that if those uncles did not assist him, that does not make them his enemies, thereafter, the mother came to say thank you, that is to show appreciation, meanwhile, there are people that when I give them money, they will not bother to show appreciation, I’m asking you now, do you want me to do that again ? No. Morals, understanding and wisdom is not in the city again .
Now, because the weakness of the people is being reviewed to people I call pulpit gang stars, the mere fact that people are many in one gathering does not mean that God is there, God said wherever there are one or two people in my name, are they there in the name of God ? In a place where they say how many people want to give #500,000 that after this, that’s when God will answer their prayers while Jesus Christ said, one thing that the widow did by putting all she has, two pieces of silver money she has ,she is the one that contributed so much because she gave all what she has unlike somebody who is stealing from here and there. You will never see me going to the houses of big people that comes here, i don’t visit people, I don’t even know their houses.There was a time, a woman came here to invite me to come and bless her house, I told her with all my messages can’t you lay your hands on the building and bless it?
In a place where you tell people to tell you when they finish their fasting they should call you, the gospel of today is not drawing people to God but to their general overseer or the pastors, the gospel of today is not propelling the true picture of Christ, love your neighbor as thyself ,do unto others as you want others to do unto you, but is like our people have forgotten something and that is what so ever you sow you shall reap, especially, when their children are not doing well, they will say is because of the evil attack of the enemies, let me tell you, no enemy is attacking them but only reaping what they have sowed, the way the father is likewise their children will be. In those days, when it was only Catholics and other few church that are available, let’s say thirty years back, I can go to my uncle’s house and eat but today they have turned family against each other because of evil visions
What is your view on Nigeria of today?
My notion, not right now please take note but my notion about Nigeria has been for the past eight years now, I have been saying it that Nigeria is going to lead the world, that time is coming and it will in my time in the next 10 years you will see what is going to happen in this country, those people that are traveling out now I will say it’s not a good deal, it’s better they retrace their steps back because the next government that is coming I can say that Nigeria will be better than you expected. There is going to be peace in this country , like what I said in July this year, that the trouble of Nigeria ends in July before the present government hand over to the next, you will see a beautiful thing happening in Nigeria concerning the security, dollars, concerning everything, some infrastructures will be out in place and you will be surprised.
How do you think this will happen?
It has started happening since July. Are the terrorists moving faster than before? They have been caught, some have been destroyed, everyone of them are running into the hands of security men even in Ekiti here. Let me tell you, there was a time I called some notable personalities and Commissioner of police and I told them that on a particular day, there is going to be robbery in Ado Ekiti here at a popular market here and it happened and I said before the month runs out, they will be caught and this came to pass.
Let me tell you again, very soon the person controlling kidnappers here in Ekiti will be caught and people will know the person behind this challenge. The hand of God is upon Nigeria and it’s going to be a beautiful land again. That giant they used to call Nigeria was a mistake, the country is going to be a beautiful bride of the whole world and this is going to happen very fast. Let me tell you something concerning Nigeria again, they are talking about religion or whatever, I want to say that religion has done evil to this country than good, what Nigeria needs now is not about religion because those people behind religion when you move closer to them, you will know they don’t worth what most of them are saying on radio or TV .
So what is your view on the Muslim Muslim ticket?
People are saying Tinubu is this, Tinubu is that, if Saul who converted himself to Paul and who was the worst enemy of the gospel of Christ later became the most successful preacher of the gospel automatically, let the worst person go there, I preached sometimes ago and the message went viral, I said Tinubu is an instrument in the hand of God and God is set to use him, all those saying that his hands or legs are shaking, my brother forget about that, one day, God told me to call my people together and pray for Buhari and I said why because they said this man is evil, God told me he is not, only that Nigeria is under transformation that is why things are like this everyone of us have to be wise.
If this security challenge has not happen we will not know about security consciousness today, people in Israel are the most security conscious people yet we here want to rule the world so what is happening is to wake us up to be security conscious. If a tree want to grow beautiful leaves, the older ones must wither away that is what is happening in Nigeria, now the only prayer is that my blood and your blood will not be used to fortify the land.
What is your take on the Christians in politics in Nigeria, are they representing Christ?
Christians have been sleeping too much in this country, there was a time Christian leader do say politics is for the evil people my thought then was very funny, you know I was a Personal Assistant to the former Deputy Governor in Ekiti State before, that was 2007 to 2010 in then Segun Oni administration I was the Personal Assistant to Dr Sikiru Tae Lawal, let me tell you if they say politics is for the evil people, the evil people will make policies or rules for you when we are sleeping or foolish. Does it make any sense?
In Benue State in 1991 a Catholic priest was their governor and another Catholic priest is moving now to be their governor under the platform of APC, let Ortom begin to move here and there, you see him winning, the reason is people are seeing truthfulness in him and they are following him. Most Christians are playing politics just because of their pockets they are not there to represent Christ, if they are there representing Christ , we will know even the present vice president is there comfortably I want to tell you his ideology has not been visible.
Now Muslims founded a bank called Jaiz bank what is happening to the Christians, now Okotie have a bank, soon we’ll be condemning him. Let me tell you something about Christianity, those people who are betrayer of Christianity Jesus Christ said they confess with their mouth but their heart is far from me, people have turn Christianity to clubs, if governor is coming here on Sunday you will see people rushing here not that they love Christ but because of what they will eat
Let me tell you this, muslims worship with me here on Tuesdays and Sundays, I have Muslims as members of my church, for once I have never tell them to convert into Christianity because I don’t see them serving evil, the only person I will not allow here is somebody who believe everything will be at all cost, someone who is not ready to follow the will and pattern of God I will not allow such person. They come here with their hijab and worship with us.
I have about two hundred of them, few days ago, one hausa muslim from Kastina was here to worship with us with all members of his family, he told me that somebody told them about the church, after our service I asked him whether he gained something from the service, he said all I preached were things affecting their families and businesses, I just told them to go and make amendment that is it.
