Davido Recalls Running Errands for Don Jazzy, D’Banj in Early Career

In a now-viral video clip, the singer reflected on his formative years in Atlanta between 2007 and 2009, when he was still finding his path in the music industry.

“In Atlanta, 2007 or 2008 or 2009… In my father’s house, I was freestyling for Don Jazzy and D’Banj,” Davido said. “He [Don Jazzy] sent me to go and buy McDonald’s with my papa car — Rolls-Royce.”

The singer’s revelation offers a glimpse into his humble beginnings before rising to global fame and becoming one of Africa’s most celebrated artists.

The nostalgic account has sparked admiration from fans, with many praising his resilience and growth in the competitive music industry.
