Council Chair, Prince Ajayi Decries Rising Insecurity In Ekiti     … Solicits Support For His LCDA

 By Ayodele Abere

The Chairman, interacting with the members of Online Media Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ekiti State Chapter who were on a courtesy visit to his office at Ayede Ekiti on Wednesday, decried the rising cases of insecurity across the country.

Prince Ajayi explained that the meagre allocation coming to the LCDA is what they have been managing to run the Council. Although, he said the elites from the community have promised to assist the LCDA in some areas.

“I have personally spoken to many of them. Both those that are in Nigeria and in the diaspora have promised us that, and I believe they will keep to their promises. We even discussed on how to start working on our new site and they have told us that anytime we are ready, they too will be ready”.

However, the Chairman has promised to make some sacrifices by denying himself certain benefits that should accrue to his office to ensure that things go smoothly with the members of staff and management of the LCDA.

Speaking on the issue of insecurity with the recent occurrences in the State, the Chairman said people are no longer free to go to their farms at will, saying if there’s still life, that it’s better off as there will still be hope.

“So, so far, so good, we cannot say the situation is extremely bad. Yes, it may not be too good. It may not be too rosy. But, I tell you, Rome was not built in a day. By the Grace of God and with the assistance of our government, the LCDA will become a very good place. We started from a point, and we have gotten to a point. We will get to places in Jesus name”. The Chairman prayed.

“God will give us peace and we will be living in peace. It will get to a time that our neighbouring States will come and learn how we achieved it in Ekiti State because there will be peace in Ekiti as a whole” Said he.

Giving credence to the Governor of the State, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, Prince Ajayi described him as a true OMOLUABI who always sees others’ problems as his, judging by the recent killing of two Monarchs in the State and abduction of school children.

According to Prince Ajayi, the Governor has been trying his best to tackle insecurity by bringing it to zero level.

“The day he came to meet with us at Imojo Ekiti , I saw his countenance and I nearly cried for him. You will see it in him that this one is unhappy. Yes, nobody will be happy having that situation at hand, but we thank God again, all the kidnapped people have returned home.

“We thank God for having a very good and able Governor in the State. A kind hearted Governor. A Governor that you can talk to and a Governor that will sit down and listen to what you are saying and do the needful”. The Chairman stated.
