The Executive Chairman of Gbonyin Local Council Development Area Hon. Damilare Ajayi, has joined other well wishers to congratulate the Governor-Elect Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and his Deputy, Mrs Monisade Afuye in Ekiti State for their resounding victory in the just concluded Governorship election.
The Council boss who could not hide his joy on the outcome of the election noted that this is the first time in the history of Ekiti State that a governor will be handing over to his successor from the same political party .
He called on the Governor-Elect to do everything possible to implement his manifestos for Ekiti people, thereby consolidating on the present achievements of Dr John kayode Fayemi.
Hon Ajayi, while assuring the Governor -Elect the needed support from the good people of Gbonyin LCDA, he appealed to him to make challenges facing the people of the communities in the LCDA a priority, in a bid to boost social economic activities in the areas.
He also thanked the people of the Council area for coming out enmasse and for their comportment during the election as he enjoined them to support the incoming administration and that they should always pray for divine wisdom for the Governor-Elect.
He prayed that Mr Biodun Oyebanji’s tenure will be known for positive turn around of things in Ekiti State.
In another development, the LCDA Chairman, has commisserated with the members of the immediate family and the entire Aisegba Ekiti community over the death of one of their bread winners and an illustrious son, late Hon. Babatunde Abegunde.
Until his death, late Abegunde was the chairman of Ekiti State Teaching Service Commission.
In a release signed by the Public Relations Officer to the chairman, Mr Peter Omotayo, he described late Babatunde Abegunde as a political leader, grassroot mobilizer, committed and dedicated to the continuity agenda of Dr John kayode Fayemi.
As a politician, Hon. Abegunde was unique and different as he was always working for the advancement of All Progressives Congress (APC) and Aisegba Ekiti in general.
The council boss enjoined the family and Aisegba Community to take solace in the fact that late Abegunde lived a life worthy of emulation.
