The clamour for improved education sector can become realistic through the contributions of different stakeholders rather than seeing it as the sole responsibility of government.
A traditional chief in Ilawe-Ekiti, in Ekiti Southwest Local government area of Ekiti State, High Chief Agbo na made the observation at the presentation of books and other education materials to pupils and students from different public primary and Secondary schools at his Oke-Emo quarters of the community.
The philanthropist who is the Elemo of Oke-Emo, noted that the Ekiti state governor,Biodun Oyebanji is trying his best in the education sector,but there is still need for the input of stakeholders for the development of the sector. Adding that the programme was the second time he carried such humanitarian gesture.
He urged the beneficiaries to be serious in their studies with a view to emerging as intellectuals in the society for which Ilawe-Ekiti is known considering its surfeit of men and women that have made the community proud in diverse areas of human endeavour.
Some of the beneficiaries in an interview expressed gratitude to the benefactor, and pledged to live in line with the admonitions they were given by different speakers in their pursuit of a better tomorrow.
Parents on their part, thanked High Chief Agbona for his kindness pointing out that aside the education initiative, a few months ago he organized a medical outreach that attracted every age and gender in the community where various ailments were treated on his bill.
