In a bid to show gratitude and appreciate those that have supported his boxing career, the reigning Japanese featherweight boxing champion, Ridwan ‘Scorpion’ Oyekola, has picked Friday 29th of December for an event tagged: ‘An Evening with A Champ’ scheduled for the Boxing gym of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort Ibadan.
The event according to the former World Boxing Federation (WBF) Champion, is designed for him to show appreciation to spirited individuals that had positively contributed to his success story in his boxing journey.
“I specifically chose the Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resorts for this event because of the significant role that the owner of the place, Engr. Dotun Sanusi played in my boxing career. He has also built a world standard boxing gym for the benefit and use of any boxer that intends to prepare ahead of an important bout”.
“I’m calling on my fans all over the world to look forward to the event we tagged An Evening with a Champ as it will be stream live on my social media handles, where some selected personalities will receive award from the Team Scorpion as a way of appreciating what they have done to assist my boxing career to this level before I will be returning to Japan where I am based in January,” said Scorpion.
Among dignitaries penciled down for award by Scorpion were: Engr Dotun Sanusi, Prophet SMO Mustapha (Baba Sebioba), Zion Sport Promotion, Hon Gbenga Opaleye, Jonadosh Promotions, Alh. Hamed Hammex, Sammy Japan, Sola Ayodele of COABOX Promotions, Pastor Femi Oni, Ajia Queen Ara, Mrs Toyin Olaoye, Olanrewaju Agiri, DPO Iyaganku, CSP Afeez Oyekan, Araromi Scorpion Fans, Coach Sunny Bruce, Hon Bako Arowolo, Victor Olabanwo, Hon Sunday Oni, Adedibu Elepo, Olawale Hamzat, Babatunde Saheed (Mr sport) and Arole Ayo (Mr. Legbeegbe).
