Oyebanji, Olanipekun and Bamisile
A ranking member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Bamisile, has congratulated Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji and a legal Icon, Chief Wole Olanipekun(SAN) on their conferment with distinguished awards by a frontline Lagos based Business Magazine, Marketing Edge.
The representative of the Ekiti South Federal Constituency II, stated that the awards further confirmed that the two Ekiti illustrious sons’ giant strides in making positive impacts in the lives of the citizens have garnered national attention.
A statement signed by the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of the Magazine, Chief John Ajayi, revealed that the twosome, among other high profile Nigerians will be garlanded with prestigious awards today for their contributions to national development.
Bamisile said most profound was the fact that Governor Oyebanji is to be decorated with distinguished awards in grassroots development, which indicated that his love for local government autonomy and full fledged operation were being appreciated by the media.
He expressed joy that the Nigerian media were quick to realise that Governor Oyebanji was embracing the concept of local government autonomy even before the supreme court pronouncement granting same to all the 774 council areas across the country, which he said propelled the award.
“When a leader is doing what was expected and the people, particularly the media, regarded as a critical stakeholder is recognizing this and showing commendation, it will help grow and strengthen our democratic system.
“This is not the only award Governor Oyebanji has been decorated with, but this stands out because it revolves around the local government system where over 70% of our people reside.
“On behalf of myself and family, I join the entire Ekiti citizens at home and in the diaspora in felicitating Governor Biodun Oyebanji on this feat and with the hope that Ekiti State will be better governed with this expression of commendation and recognition across Nigeria”.
Similarly, the Federal lawmaker described the award conferment on Chief Olanipekun as well deserved, describing him as not only a guru in the legal profession, but a foremost educationist, whose impacts have permeated the Human Capital Development sector of the country in no small measure.
“Chief Wole Olanipekun(SAN) is a pride to us in Ekiti. I am indeed enthralled with his unique exploits in the legal profession and education sector. His community development spirit and philanthropic prowess are unsurpassable.
“I congratulate him on this feat and wish him well in his current and future endeavours”.
