The Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria ATPN, the premier tourism membership association established in Nigeria in October 1990 and reputed for promoting credible, responsible and sustainable tourism is flagging off its Ekiti state chapter on Saturday, 17th August, 2024.
The prestigious event which will hold on 17th August, 2024 at Amor Hotel, Ado Ekiti, the State capital at 11.45 am prompt will be having the esteemed presence of global and regional leaders in tourism, culture and arts including the association’s Board of Trustees.
The expected personalities include the Jamaican Tourism Minister, Hon. Edmund Bartlette, a global leader of over 40 years in resilient destinations, the Executive Chairman, African Tourism Board, Dr. Cuthbert Ncube both of whom will join the event virtually from Jamaica and South Africa respectively, the Special Guest of Honor Senator Adeyemi Adaramodu, (Senator representing Ekiti South senatorial district) Chairman of the occassion Mr. Kayode Olusemire, CEO Midas Hotel, the Patron of the Association, Sen. Babafemi Ojudu, the Honourable Commissioners for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Prof. Ojo Bakare, the Honorable Commissioner for Investment, Trade and Industries, Hon Tayo Adeola, the Honorable Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Gold Adedayo, the Permanent Secretaries of the Ministries of Education, Health, Environment, the Directors General of the Bureau of Tourism Development and Management, Ekiti State Signage and Advertising Agency, Ekiti State tate Development and Investment Promotion Agency EKDIPA to mention a few.
Other dignitaries include the Executive Director, West Africa Tourism Organisation WATO, Alhaji Hassan Zakari, the presidents of Society of Ekiti Creative Arts SOECA, Mr. Caleb Osasona, Hotel Owners Forum Ekiti state HOFES, Mr. Fola Ayedun, NANTA Ekiti state, Mr. Olanrewaju, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations NIPR Ekiti state, Mr. Omololu Anthony Adesua among others.
The leadership of the association stressed that the groundbreaking event will also serve as a testament to the enduring impact of ATPN on tourism sector to celebrate the landmark achievements of tourism practitioners.
Part of the activities of the day among others are panel discussion, keynote addresses, goodwill messages, cultural performances and exhibition.
The event marks a significant milestone in the developmental agenda of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji as the private sector tourism in Ekiti state comes alive. It promises to be a memorable one.
